Community guidelines

Real people. Real respect. Real local.

Meilo is a small, calm corner of the internet for finding your people in real life. These guidelines exist so everyone here feels safe to show up as themselves. They apply to every post, message, profile and circle on the app.

1

Be real

No fake accounts, no impersonation, no AI-generated spam. Use your real name (or the name people call you), a real photo, and post things you actually did, made or thought. Meilo is a place to be seen — not a stage to perform on.

2

Be kind

No bullying, harassment, hate speech or targeted abuse. Disagreement is fine — cruelty is not. If you wouldn't say it to someone's face over a coffee, don't post it here. We have zero tolerance for content that attacks people based on who they are.

3

Be honest

No misleading content, no fake reviews, no scams in the marketplace. If you're recommending a place, you've been there. If you're selling something, it exists and works. If you're sharing a story, it's true. Honesty is the whole foundation here.

4

Be safe

Nothing that endangers children. No graphic violence. No content glorifying self-harm. If you or someone you know is in crisis, please contact your local emergency services or a mental health helpline — we are a community app, not a clinical service.

5

Be local

Keep content relevant to your community. Meilo is built around real places and real neighbourhoods. Generic motivational reposts, distant news takes, and global promotional content don't fit here. If it wouldn't matter to someone living near you, it probably doesn't belong.

If you break the guidelines

Depending on what happened, one of these will follow:

  • Content removed — the post, comment or message comes down. You'll get a notification telling you why.
  • Account suspended — for repeat or serious breaches, your account is paused and you can't post until we've talked it through.
  • Account removed — for the worst breaches (abuse, scams, content endangering children), the account is permanently removed.
  • Reported to authorities — where the law requires it (e.g. content involving minors, credible threats), we will report to the relevant authorities.

Reporting something

Tap the Report link on any post or profile. Reports are private, reviewed by the Meilo team, and we'll act on them quickly. If something is urgent or you need to reach a human directly, email support@meilo.app.
